BUILDING MULTIPLE USES, ALLÍN

FIRST PRIZE. PROJECT COMPETITION

The proposal made by the azpilicueta architecture team; obtains the first prize in the public contest, under the motto, of ideas for Project and Construction Management.

The motto, whose initials pick up, includes the expression Dinamization Center. Valley of Allín. Passivhaus, raises a new building in the AR-2 of Amillano, destined to cover the social, cultural, educative and sporting initiative in ground floor. As well as the initiative for the promotion and implantation of local entrepreneurs, all in search of the DYNAMIZATION of the economic activity of the Allín Valley.

MEETING POINT A new large pedestrian space is proposed, as an open plaza in the southeast, to Sector AR2. The resulting large pedestrian space is bounded by the facades of Frontón and Nuevo Edificio de Usos Múltiples, the pergola that joins these facades and the row of trees to the east, delimiting and completing the interior pedestrian space.

This "open square", already has urban elements of interest, which promote various uses, in addition to rest and entertainment, through the green areas, paved, platforms with existing street furniture in front of the Fronton.

PERGOLA / SQUARE The extension of the pergola of the covered Fronton has been considered, as a strategy to achieve different objectives. On the one hand a connecting element between buildings of different scale, which allow to limit the pedestrian space. The "plaza" space bounded between sports track, green and paved areas and pergola covered space is enhanced. It allows an adequate architectural integration, hiding the elements of necessary service, such as the access shot by the North to both buildings of Frontón and New Building of Multiple Uses. In addition, the elements of service are integrated into the set, such as the concrete walls of the access ramp to the changing rooms and the adjoining volume attached to the rebound wall of the covered Fronton. The access ramp to the first floor of the New Multipurpose Building is suitably integrated into the topography, with very simple design measures, which allows an economic optimization.

ORIENTATION It has been taken into account that the main facades will have an optimal orientation to capture the sun's energy. COMPABILITY A compact and rectangular shape is chosen. A prismatic building of 2 heights is generated, with dimensions of 12.7 m. on the long side and 8.8 m on the short side. ZERO GROUND SURPLIERS The topography is designed, so that it is not necessary to land land from the excavation of the new Multiple Use Building. The reaprovechamiento of the necessary earth to realize the foundations and the explanados of ground floor, in the agreements of necessary topography, to generate the ramp of access to plant 1. Poses smooth, safe slopes, so that the final aspect is green and as natural as possible.

POLITICALITY OF INTERIOR USES A series of measures is proposed to allow as much flexibility as possible for internal redistribution. The fixed elements are arranged as stairs, accesses and toilets on one side, so that the rest of the interior space is released. It starts from the modular base of minimal cells of possible activities. Hollows are distributed homogeneously throughout the facades, so as to allow a flexible distribution.

ACCESSIBILITY WITHOUT ELEVATOR Both in the external and internal circulations, the passage of people with reduced physical-sensorial capacities is allowed, without lack of elevator installation.

PASSIVHAUS The system of passive constructions is proposed, called Passivhaus, which ensures that it has an optimal use of the sun's energy, for a great thermal comfort, with a very low consumption of energy for heating and cooling. The term NZEB is an acronym for "Near Zero Energy Building" , which can be translated as "buildings of almost zero energy consumption or EECN" and refers to buildings that meet an efficiency level energy is very high and energy consumption is almost nil, or very low, which must come mostly from renewable sources, produced on site or in the environment.

The five basic principles of the Passivhaus will be worked on, 1. Thermal insulation, 2. Thermal bridges, 3. Water tightness, 4. High performance carpentry and 5. VMC double flow.

PASSIVHAUS WITH THE MOST TRADITIONAL MATERIALS POSSIBLE Economically adjusted materials of proven quality have been chosen, so that they are durable and of low maintenance. It is considered that all the chosen materials are common, so that the construction companies can have an adequate supply in price and term. The selected insulations and their arrangement, allow that with a traditional construction, we avoid thermal bridges of slabs, and that their execution is simple.

PERIOD November, 2017. Adjudication Competition.

EQUIPMENT The team that has developed the proposal is formed by: Daniel Azpilicueta, landscape architect; María Navarro and Jesús Armendariz, surveyors; Jesús Bacaicoa, architect, infographics and Eduardo Ozcoidi, structural consultant.
